The 34-Passenger Trolley — the Largest Trolley We Run

The top of the trolley size band: 34 seated, and our deepest single-capacity inventory. The most capacity you can get while still riding a vintage trolley. Above this headcount, the honest answer is a motor coach.

What Our Clients Say

Thousands of happy customers trust us with their transportation needs

What is a 34 passenger trolley?

A large charter trolley seats about 34 passengers — the top of the trolley size band and, in our inventory, the deepest single-capacity cluster, which means it usually has the best availability of any trolley size on a tight date. This is the vehicle for moving a large guest list or a full corporate group while still riding a vintage trolley rather than a plain bus. It is important to be precise about what this size is and is not: 34 is a ceiling, not a midpoint. There is no 40- or 50-seat trolley to step up to. If your group genuinely needs everyone aboard at once and that number is meaningfully above 34, the correct vehicle is a motor coach, and we will tell you that directly rather than splitting a too-big group across multiple trolleys to force a sale.

Best uses for a 34 seated trolley

Large wedding guest shuttle, fewest cycles

The strongest use of this size. A 34-seat trolley clears a big guest list in the fewest possible trolley loops — a 130-guest wedding is roughly four loads instead of five or six on a smaller unit. Fewer cycles means a tighter, more reliable pre-ceremony shuttle timeline, which is the main practical reason to choose the largest trolley for guest transport.

Full corporate group, single unit

A 28–34 person team or department moving together to an offsite, an awards dinner, or a client event. One trolley keeps the entire group together and on schedule, and at a milestone company event the vintage trolley itself is part of the experience in a way a shuttle bus is not.

Large tour groups on a long day

A 28–34 person winery, brewery, or seasonal lights tour running 5–8 hours across several stops. Everyone rides one trolley for the whole day, so there is no per-stop headcount or "which vehicle" coordination across a multi-stop itinerary with a big group.

High-demand dates where smaller trolleys are gone

Because this is the deepest single-capacity cluster, a peak-Saturday wedding date that has no small or mid-size trolley left may still have a 34-seat unit available. For groups that fit, choosing this size is sometimes simply the availability answer on a competitive date.

Logistics at this size

Fewest cycles, but each cycle is a bigger commitment

A 34-seat trolley minimizes the number of shuttle loops, which simplifies the timeline — but loading and unloading 34 people in formalwear takes longer per stop than loading 22. Net, it is still fewer total minutes than more loops on a smaller unit, but we plan slightly longer per-cycle dwell time so the schedule reflects reality, not an optimistic load time.

Access constraints are the most significant here

This is the longest trolley body, so it has the tightest fit envelope: estate driveways, narrow garden-venue lanes, and dense urban pickup points are most likely to be a problem at this size. We pre-check the pickup, staging, and turnaround for every large-trolley booking, and if the venue approach cannot take a 34-seat unit, we say so before booking — not on the day.

Amenities still vary unit to unit — including bare units

Even in the 34-seat band, units are not standardized — some have sound systems and climate control, at least one large unit has no listed onboard amenities at all. We never assume features from the size class. Anything the day depends on — heat, AC, a sound input — is confirmed in writing against the exact unit assigned, and if a feature is essential we hold a unit that actually has it.

Accessibility is not this tier — plan around it

The wheelchair-accessible lift-equipped trolleys are in the mid-size ~29-seat band, not the 34-seat band. If a guest needs a wheelchair lift and the rest of the group needs maximum capacity, the practical answer is usually a mid-size accessible trolley for that need plus separate capacity for the larger group, rather than assuming a 34-seat unit is accessible. We coordinate this explicitly at booking.

How to size it honestly (and when to step up)

The honest comfort number: 34 seated ≈ 28–30 comfortable

As with every trolley, the rating assumes tight bench seating. A unit rated 34 carries 34 for a short shuttle hop; for a multi-hour tour or a formalwear wedding ride, plan around 28–30 for genuine comfort. Size shuttle cycles on the rated number for short hops; size a long single ride on the lower comfortable number.

This is the top — the next step is a motor coach, not a bigger trolley

There is no trolley above ~34 seated. If your single-ride group is meaningfully above 34, do not split it across two trolleys to force a trolley booking — that means two drivers, two units, and a fragmented group. The correct vehicle is a motor coach: around 50 seated, highway-comfortable, with luggage capacity. We will recommend the coach directly when the group exceeds what a 34-seat trolley honestly holds.

The split that actually works for big weddings

For a large wedding that wants the trolley look but has a big guest count, the proven pattern is not a fleet of trolleys. It is motor coaches doing the bulk guest transport (≈50 guests per cycle) plus optionally one small trolley reserved purely for the wedding party's photo loop. That gets the trolley photos without forcing every guest through an undersized trolley shuttle.

Use a shuttle cycle, not a bigger vehicle, when arrival is staggered

If guests arrive over a window rather than all at once, a 34-seat trolley running continuous cycles can out-perform a single larger vehicle, because it keeps moving as guests show up instead of waiting to fill one big load. Tell us whether the group arrives together or staggered — it changes whether 34-and-cycling or a coach is the better answer.

Compare trolley sizes

Wrong size for your group? Each trolley tier is built for a different use — here are the other two.

24 passenger trolley

A small vintage trolley in the 22–26 seat range. The right size when the trolley is for the bridal party or a single tight group — not the whole guest list. One vehicle, everyone who matters most riding together.

30 passenger trolley

The most-booked trolley size: 28–32 seated. Enough to run a real guest shuttle in efficient cycles, small enough to stay charming. This is also the band where wheelchair-accessible trolleys live.

Frequently asked questions

34 passenger trolley questions, answered honestly.

Yes. About 34 seated is the top of the trolley size band — there is no 40- or 50-seat trolley. It is also the deepest single-capacity cluster in our inventory, so on tight or peak dates this size often has the best availability of any trolley tier. If your group genuinely needs more than ~34 aboard at once, the right vehicle is a motor coach, not a bigger trolley.

Why the 34-Passenger Trolley

Maximum trolley capacity with the strongest availability — and a straight answer about its ceiling

Most Capacity, Still a Trolley

At 34 seated this is the largest charm-and-vintage option before you cross into plain motor-coach territory. Fewer shuttle cycles for a big guest list while keeping the trolley aesthetic.

Strongest Trolley Inventory

The 34-seat band is our deepest single-capacity trolley cluster, so for peak Saturdays and tight dates this size has the best availability of any trolley tier.

Honest About the Ceiling

Above ~34 in a single ride, no trolley fits. We will recommend a motor coach for the bulk and, if you want, a small trolley for the photo loop — not oversell a trolley that does not fit.
